Weddings and Corona

Updated: Aug 3, 2020

Hey lovelies!

It has been a very difficult time for the world and the wedding industry lately. We are all still in shock and living daily life as good as possible. We still remember the days end of February 2020 when people were cancelling events and postponing their weddings in the unknown. Brides were crying as they have planned their big day sometimes for over a year. What now? One thing is clear!! No one wants to celebrate one of the most important day in their life with social distancing and masks on their faces! So, when can then resume with weddings as we used to know them? What can we expect for 2020? To very honest, we expect weddings come back to normal only when everyone got vaccinated. While we still hoping for a miracle that this will happen in 2020, it's more likely to be in the spring of 2021. Can we then resume with just with smaller weddings? Let's check that. It has been all over the news that even small gatherings can trigger new outbreaks and act super spreader events. So, it's very likely that the government wants to protect its citizens and will not allow these gatherings in large numbers. Maybe in September/ October 2020 we can resume with very small outdoor weddings of 50 guests in Dubai, but this will then only cater to Western/ European weddings. And we sure there will be very strict safety measures to protect the guests and organizers. But again, maybe the government will come up with a system of testing or screening before weddings and events happening, but all of this is still written in the stars.

The only thing we can do now is make the best out of the time we will be waiting for this to be over. Life has somehow stopped, yes, but it's up to us what we make out of it. Most important is to keep hope up and try to enjoy day by day in a different now. Accept the things we cannot change and which are out of our hands. Soon this will be over and we will hold each other again. Weddings are not cancelled, just postponed.

Stay tight. Stay happy. Stay positive.

Lots of love & many virtual hugs to everyone out there ❤️
